META is appointed as architect for Centraal Politiegebouw Kouter Torhout

For the architectural assignment of the new police headquarters Centraal Politiegebouw Kouter in Torhout (Belgium), the police district chooses a collaboration with META-AIKO (temporary association), from a list of 18 candidates.

In the coming months, a participatory design trajectory will be set up between the design team and the Local Police Kouter in order to create together an ambitious, contemporary and qualitative workplace for approximately 110 police staff. The existing buildings on the former WVEM-site along Ambachtstraat in Torhout will be demolished.

META will take on the full architectural assignment and can count on the collaboration of AIKO (structural and MEP engineering), Bureau De Fonseca (acoustical engineering) and EVEKA (energy engineering).
