Official inauguration Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre
Today, our project Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre was officially inaugurated by mayor Dirk De fauw, honorary alderman Boudewijn Laloo, Jeff Mertens (CFE/MBG) and Eric Soors (META). Because of the measures to prevent the Covid-19 virus from spreading, the number of attendees was limited to an absolute minimum. In the spring of 2022, a new 'grand opening' will be organised during which the building will be opened to the general public.
Earlier this week, the public space and the artwork 'Bron' by Philip Aguirre y Otegui were also inaugurated.
Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre is a joint project by Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura and META architectuurbureau, supported by MOUTON, hp engineers, Daidalos Peutz and AFA Consult.
Landinzicht, with support from Ingenieursbureau France, was responsible for the design of the outdoor space.
The artwork 'Bron' on the Beursplein is by the artist Philip Aguirre y Otegui.
The project was a design-and-build competition by CFE and MBG for the City of Bruges.
