For this detached house on a wooded, sloping site, the design is not a search for a pronounced aesthetic, but a clear and logical response to the client’s brief, rooted in context, material, and use.

The house is constructed using a solid CLT structure and organised around a systematic ground plan of six equal bays. This rational structure enabled extensive prefabrication and significantly reduced construction time. The existing vegetation on the site was a determining factor in the positioning of the house. From the street, visitors descend along a green path through the landscape towards the front door.

The elongated volume is closed on three sides and opens fully towards the garden. A covered terrace forms the transition between interior and exterior. Roof and façade are uniformly finished with aluminium shingles, reinforcing the monolithic character and allowing the volume to blend discreetly into the surrounding greenery.

Inside, the sequential layout and exposed CLT structure create a sense of calm and clarity. META’s 'construction-as-finishing' principle results in a coherent and sustainable interior, complemented by circular interventions such as reclaimed floor tiles and kitchen cabinet fronts made from recycled PET. The fully glazed rear façade brings abundant daylight into the living spaces and establishes a strong connection with the landscape.

This house demonstrates how a restrained design approach can lead to timeless, high-quality architecture that emerges naturally from its context.
