An article in De Standaard on recuperating waste heat refers to ‘Agrotopia’ by META

On 7 February, 'De Standaard' newspaper focused the rise of district heating networks in Flanders, whereby traditional heating methods are replaced by networks that recover the waste heat from refuse incinerators. Working in collaboration with Van Bergen Kolpa Architects, META is building the rooftop greenhouse ‘Agrotopia’ in Roeselare which will be warmed, amongst other things, by the waste heat from the refuse management company Mirom. Construction of ‘Agrotopia’ begins this year and the site will open its doors to horticulturalists, researchers and the public in the second half of 2018.
