Competition Sociale woningen Spoorwegstraat submitted
META architectuurbureau enters its competition design with De Ideal Woning for the construction of 46 counsel houses at the corner of the Spoorwegstraat and the Groenehoekstraat in Antwerp.
The project area is situated beteen 2 railroads. The specific conditions of the site have codetermined the implantation of the building and have created the idea of a south oriented, green, calm inner area.
The current buildings on the site give the corner of the Spoorwegstraat and the Groenehoekstraat little meaning. The design for the new building with its volumetric development wants to give this streetcorner more charisma. Moreover, the design activates the corner by situating the access to the central area and the bike ramp tot the parking under the corbelling.
