Winning competition Urban Villa Nova Rode
META architectuurbureau, in collaboration with LandInzicht Landschapsarchitecten, is one of the winners of the project Nova Rode, commissioned by Immpact.
In a park around the brook Molenbeek, on the site of a former paper factory in Sint-Genesius-Rode, a number of urban villas will be constructed.
In the urban villas there will be 11 luxury apartments. All apartments have a spacious and sunny terrace. The design is characterized by a plan in stepped shape. This allows all the apartments and terraces to have an optimal orientation towards the sun and each apartment has a beautiful view of the park.
LandInzicht Landschapsarchitecten designed a water table around the building. The water creates a distance between the private terraces and the public park, allowing visual obstructions (such as hedges, fences...) to be omitted. The building is an autonomous and clearly defined volume in the park, without losing the connection with the surroundings.
