Competition Gebouw O UA won
META, Storimans Wijffels architecten en Technum win – in collaboration with West8 – the design competition for the auditorium- and laboratory building Gebouw O of the University of Antwerp.
The new multidisciplinary building on campus Drie Eiken in Wilrijk offers room for 8 auditoriums (for 200 to 300 people) and 2 microscopy rooms.
The design emphasises the central and multidisciplinary function that it has on campus an forms at the same time the heart of it. It has an open relation with the landscape and the surrounding buildings. It doesn’t disappear in the surroundings, but wants to be present in a recognizable way and strengthen the quality.
